The Carribean Festival

July 2, 2008

On June 28th 2008 was the Caribbean Festival where people from different Islands come out to represent their Countries. There couldn’t have been a better day to have the festival because it was nice outside. Yes, it did rain hard for about five minutes, but after that the sun came out and it was even hotter than it was before. They had food, CD’s, Caribbean artifacts, towels for sale. They even had a live band performing for the people. It was a great day.

I’m taking spanish class over the summer and one of our requirements are to participate in a fundraising event to help raise money to buy things for the less fortunate kids in Colombia. I participated in the car wash along with many others. This was a good experience to get to know my classmates as well as enjoy the nice weather which i rarely get the chance to do. We had a good time and raised a lot of money.

June 12, 2008

Me and my sister Latoya dixon out celebrating her graduation. We had a ball with a lot of friends. There are so many places here in D.C to go and hang out. You have Chinatown which is so live five nights a week. Also there is Adams Morgan which is a long strip full of places to have fun. Downtown D.C is a place to have fun also. There’s so much to do here thats why I love being out here. You should come to Gallaudet University for an education and experience the D.C. life with me.
